Myra Korb

Myra Korb

Organist & Associate Music Director

A native of Brunswick, Myra graduated from Glynn Academy and Wesleyan College in Macon with a degree in music, focusing primarily on organ. She taught private piano and organ lessons in Nashville, Tennessee and on the staff of Cadek Conservatory in Chattanooga, Tennessee. Myra has served as an organist continually for over 60 years (she started when she was very young!). For fun, she played soprano/tenor recorders with Sweet Recorde, an early music group for about 14 years, and tin whistle with an authentic Irish Band. She says, “I’ve found my niche in folk music and now include the folk harp (lever harp) in the mix.” She has been a member of FPC since 1987, serving as supply and full-time organist for over 25 years. Her husband is Monte Korb, a retired engineer and owner of Korb Engineering.
